Every once in a while we run across a conveyor design problem that should never have happened, and we want to share with our customers an insider’s tip of 42 years to help make sure this does not show up on your conveyors.
Take a look at the attached short video and see where the belt is running and how it is catching on something. That something is the inside radius wear strip that was not designed properly, as it should have been a one piece wear strip in this area.
If you have products moving around when they should not be, give us a call and we can help solve the problem. Call today at 800-998-6111 to see the latest in smooth running conveyor designs.
So many products are lost between conveyor transfers because it's the last minute decision as to how to do it. This is a problem, and we have the solution to positively transfer all products without jams or loss.
Our 42 years of problem solving in this industry has made us experts in the handling of hard-to-handle products (in this case hot and heavy pouches filled with food products).
No transfer issues because we know what we are doing. Call us on your next conveyor project, at 800-998-6111.
We solve bakery problems all the time. Your production output is your report card, and we can help get you better grades when you come to us for designs that work. Our designs help you run in the mid 90% efficiency range when it comes to your lines, the best in the business.
By the way, we found out that product loading was the problem here and no one could find it easily because there were two different groups of people working on the line; we tracked it like detectives and solved the problem quickly.
Call us at 800-998-6111 next time you need to reduce your waste and increase production; the common sense approach to processing.
Ideal for conveyors that are less than 8 ft. long, this very open style conveyor allows you to put devices in between the bands, so if you wanted to align a product for example you could.
Also noted for it's high degree of sanitation in coating or glazing lines, this all stainless construction stays ahead of the sanitation police.

If you are currently running open cans, glass, or plastic containers, you should consider covering the open tops. Otherwise by leaving the containers exposed to dust and other foreign objects, issues with sanitation are sure to arise. It is especially important to cover the containers during lag time between empty arrival and the filling time.
Make sure you maintain awareness of new rules and regulations that transpire with tightening the food safety aspects of processing.

Sanitary Conveyor Design:
2-2008
We have been designing food processing conveyors for over 40 years now, and have been involved with starting the first plastic modular belt on the market. This experience has given us a unique insight as to what is out there and what people want. During all these years we have seen hundreds of conveyor designs, some more sanitary than others. Each year we see and hear more about food safety.
Take a look at the attached photo and let us know how we can help you design a better food handling conveyor. It’s not as expensive as you think; especially if you are concerned about product recalls.
The basics start with a fully welded frame, and end with a totally open and accessible conveyor which can be cleaned 100%.
On your next conveyor application, contact us for the latest designs in conveying with food safety in mind.
We are pleased to announce the latest in design of bread packing stations. We would like to show you how our station design can reduce repetitive motion issues within your plant. Our design reduces lifting, bending and stretching. You are able to increase your hourly productivity while allowing your plant to operate with fewer employees. We also supply all stainless steel wash down systems for ease of sanitation.
When you are ready to upgrade to a more employee friendly system, contact us right away.
Thinking of safety for your plant personnel and ease of access for your operators of equipment? Think of the new design of pass through conveyors.
It’s simple and makes sense. Stop people from climbing over conveyors by having a simple lift section conveyor for personnel and equipment pass through.
Contact us on your next project where safety and ease of access is needed.
Have you ever wondered how some companies get a lot of equipment into a small space? Allow us to explain.
The problem: A customer had to deliver bakery products from a high level cooling conveyor either to a freezer or to a manual packaging area. Floor space was limited, electrical power was limited, engineering help was limited, and there were limited funds to work with.
The Challenges: Powered conveyors with switches cost a lot of money and took up valuable floor space.
Transfers of small products from one conveyor to another would cause jams and were not self clearing, leaving products on the line (at 18 ft heights).
Sanitation and maintenance at the higher levels (18 ft high) would cause problems and wouldbe insufficient.
The Design: Forty years on conveying experience has shown us just about every kind of solution you can imagine. Here we introduced the concept of using a unique stainless steel fixed “patented” chute which would do the following:
· Bring products straight down to packaging without taking up valuable floor space. · Keep products in their orientation as they slide down the chute, not allowing rolling or speed increase.
· Eliminate all electrical issues
· Eliminate all transfer issues
· Handle the products at a fixed speed rate, evenly and smoothly
· Eliminate all sanitation and maintenance problems associated with conveyors
The Outcome: We kept it simple. We installed a chute system with a switch conveyor to feed either the freezer system or packaging.
The system works perfectly while taking many and varied bread type products from a height of 18 ft down to 30” packing heights.
No down time, no maintenance, no operating cost.
It does not have to be expensive or complicated to delivery your products where you want them; call us on your next project that requires simple solutions.
After being in the conveyor business for over 40 years we have learned how to “keep it simple”. Whether you have two or two hundred employees packing your product, contact us to inquire how your packing methods can be simplified. We can design and construct an inexpensive solution to your packaging problems.
Two to three minutes does not seem like a long time, unless your production line is stopped while waiting for a film changeover in packaging, or unless there is a short time interruption somewhere that causes the whole line to shut down. If you add up your loss of production capacity in the course of a year, you may find it to be very cost effective to add some accumulation in the line. In today’s production lines you have to stay ahead of potential break-downs, and this is one way to do it. Whether you use boxes, bags, pouches, cans, bottle, trays, or even raw products, the merits of accumulation or buffer units have proven to be both cost effective and space saving.
If you are interested in saving money and learning more about these unique systems, please take advantage of our 40 years of experience by contacting us.

Simple Dual Packing Station:
5-2007
Make it simple. Let us build a simple work station area where you can pack off and regulate boxes going into your packaging area. An easy traffic cop area lets you fill multiple boxes at the same time while saving valuable floor space area.
Two lines of products come into the system and are controlled with a gate, which then allows single filing to the box closer. For more details on labor saving techniques for your packaging area, please contact us today at 800-998-6111.
Plastic belts have come a long way; I should know since I am the first person (still living) involved with the start of the plastic belt industry. With all the new plastic and metal belts that are now on the market, it’s difficult to know who makes what. Help is available to you when you need it.
Contact us so we can tell about the various manufacturers and suppliers and discuss all of your belting options. We can also keep you up-to-date with the latest developments in conveying. We have over 40 years of experience with beltings and conveying which gives you the most knowledge that you can find anywhere.
If you are currently using rack ovens and have them lined up in your plant, carts laying all over the place, people running into each other, than it’s time for you to seriously consider going to the next step, replacing all of this with a tunnel oven. It’s not as expensive as you think, takes up less floor space in square footage, produces a better quality product, and much more of it than a rack oven.
Call us to talk about any concerns that you may have in switching over from racks to tunnels. We can help you:
Test your products with your people in our test bakery
Document results of improved quality and throughputs
Lay out existing and new floor space usage
Supply all accessory equipment as needed
Review your cost savings
With every penny savings to the bottom line being important, we can show you what others are finding out; contact us today at 800-998-6111.
Not sure how to keep things on schedule, or not sure how to make a schedule to keep things on time, let us help you. It’s easy, it’s very cheap, and it’s all with your data.
Here’s how it works- you call us and outline what items you want done and when, we simply list them down in a format you can use with your suppliers, and everybody is on the same page.
Sounds simple because it is. You don’t need the fancy programs (because we have them for your use), you don’t need fancy computers ( because we have them for your use), you don’t need much of anything except a list of what you want done and when, we just take your info and put it into a form you can use, see example attached.
So on your next project, and assuming you don’t have a lot of project help, we can help you stay on track, or at least help you let your suppliers know what the track is, call us to see how simple this is!

The Next Generation of Spiral Design:
9-2001
ncorporates improvements in a proven low-tension spiral that has been around for some time now. Every year spiral design improvements give you a better working spiral. One such improvement is in the belt carry supports for use with belts that are 30" and wider, run at speeds higher than 70FPM, and carry heavier loads (over 7 lbs per lineal foot). These applications in the past have caused many spirals to create product movement towards the inside of the cage; premature belt wear due to cross supports deflecting, and belt lifting on the outside edge. The new design eliminates these problems with the use of cross supports that substantially reduce this deflection; much stronger and stiffer supports which give you a better operating spiral.
If you have a spiral which uses older cross support technology, and are having problems with belt lifting or product movement, contact us to discuss a possible retrofit to this new and improved design.
Yes, it was the largest spiral on display at the recent bakery show where we introduced the latest design in bread cooling equipment. Coupled with an automatic depanner system, this new technology in bread cooling had many people asking the question: "where have you been!". Contact us on your next spiral project so we can show you the latest technology in cooling.
f you happen to be in the area of Las Vegas on September 10-14th, 2001, please come see us at booth # 3704. We will be showing the latest technology in spiral freezing, cooling and proofing systems. For more info or show passes, please contact us.
A spiral heart attack:
7-2001
Yes, a spiral can have a heart attack just like we can. What you see is a small wipe with a paper towel of a belt track area, about 8" long. We were called in to inspect another manufactures machine to see what was causing the belt to keep flipping up on the outer edges. Simple enough solution!
What you don't see it that this black stuff is killing the belt, and it is not easily seen, just like a heart attack. With high belting cost it pays to keep your tracks clean, because what you don't see will definitely hurt you in the pocketbook.
Contact us on your next spiral problem, or if you would like for us to do a spiral audit.
